Dr. Per Hedén is a globally recognized leader in plastic and reconstructive surgery, known for pioneering advances in aesthetic medicine. With over three decades of experience, he has significantly influenced surgical techniques and implant technology.
Dr. Hedén graduated from Karolinska Institutet in 1978, became a plastic surgery specialist in 1982, and earned his doctorate in 1988. He was a pioneer in microsurgery in the early 1980s and played a key role in facial paralysis repair. In the 1990s, he co-founded Akademikliniken, which became Europe’s largest private clinic, performing over 5,000 surgeries annually. He was also one of the first to use botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid fillers.
In 2023, Dr. Hedén launched The Faculty, an innovative clinic that continues his legacy of excellence in aesthetic treatments. He is also the founder of the Beauty Through Science conference, now the largest aesthetic medical conference in Northern Europe.
Dr. Hedén has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, contributed to multiple textbooks, and holds several patents in medical technology. He is a key member of numerous international plastic surgery associations and an active educator, frequently lecturing worldwide.
